Death Panels Exist in Oregon

Is Barack Obama just getting older -- or is he starting to look like Dr. Jack Kevorkian, also known as "Dr. Death?"

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin sounded the alarm about the death panels implicit in ObamaCare, with its emphasis on refusals to pay for lifesaving care for the elderly. (Thanks to Anne in Texas for the following.

Despite all of the denials, death panels already exist in Oregon. Here's how they work:

A woman's doctor recommends she get medical treatment. The state-run healthcare system says no and refers her to an assisted suicide specialist. The bureaucrat in charge of what amounts to a real death panel admits that the money could be better spent elsewhere, so the patient is going to have to die. It is an inevitable fact of life that the more the government outlays to keep you alive, the more your life becomes subject to a cost/benefit analysis...

Here's the video proving death panels are, in fact, real...

Sarah Palin Confronts Barack Obama

Isn't love wonderful?

Gov. Sarah Palin Spoke out today (Tuesday) against Barack Obama's disastrous "Cap and Trade" proposals. I'll be writing on cap and trade, as well as the "global warming" fantasy, on Wed. and Thurs.

The 'Cap and Tax' Dead End

By Sarah Palin

Washington Post

There is no shortage of threats to our economy. America's unemployment rate recently hit its highest mark in more than 25 years and is expected to continue climbing. Worries are widespread that even when the economy finally rebounds, the recovery won't bring jobs. Our nation's debt is unsustainable, and the federal government's reach into the private sector is unprecedented.

Unfortunately, many in the national media would rather focus on the personality-driven political gossip of the day than on the gravity of these challenges. So, at risk of disappointing the chattering class, let me make clear what is foremost on my mind and where my focus will be:
I am deeply concerned about President Obama's cap-and-trade energy plan, and I believe it is an enormous threat to our economy. It would undermine our recovery over the short term and would inflict permanent damage.

American prosperity has always been driven by the steady supply of abundant, affordable energy. Particularly in Alaska, we understand the inherent link between energy and prosperity, energy and opportunity, and energy and security. Consequently, many of us in this huge, energy-rich state recognize that the president's cap-and-trade energy tax would adversely affect every aspect of the U.S. economy.

There is no denying that as the world becomes more industrialized, we need to reform our energy policy and become less dependent on foreign energy sources. But the answer doesn't lie in making energy scarcer and more expensive! Those who understand the issue know we can meet our energy needs and environmental challenges without destroying America's economy.

Job losses are so certain under this new cap-and-tax plan that it includes a provision accommodating newly unemployed workers from the resulting dried-up energy sector, to the tune of $4.2 billion over eight years. So much for creating jobs.

In addition to immediately increasing unemployment in the energy sector, even more American jobs will be threatened by the rising cost of doing business under the cap-and-tax plan. For example, the cost of farming will certainly increase, driving down farm incomes while driving up grocery prices. The costs of manufacturing, warehousing and transportation will also increase.

The ironic beauty in this plan? Soon, even the most ardent liberal will understand supply-side economics.

The Americans hit hardest will be those already struggling to make ends meet. As the president eloquently puts it, their electricity bills will "necessarily skyrocket." So much for not raising taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 a year.

Even Warren Buffett, an ardent Obama supporter, admitted that under the cap-and-tax scheme, "poor people are going to pay a lot more for electricity."

We must move in a new direction. We are ripe for economic growth and energy independence if we responsibly tap the resources that God created right underfoot on American soil. Just as important, we have more desire and ability to protect the environment than any foreign nation from which we purchase energy today.

In Alaska, we are progressing on the largest private-sector energy project in history. Our 3,000-mile natural gas pipeline will transport hundreds of trillions of cubic feet of our clean natural gas to hungry markets across America. We can safely drill for U.S. oil offshore and in a tiny, 2,000-acre corner of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge if ever given the go-ahead by Washington bureaucrats.

Of course, Alaska is not the sole source of American energy. Many states have abundant coal, whose technology is continuously making it into a cleaner energy source. Westerners literally sit on mountains of oil and gas, and every state can consider the possibility of nuclear energy.

We have an important choice to make. Do we want to control our energy supply and its environmental impact? Or, do we want to outsource it to China, Russia and Saudi Arabia? Make no mistake: President Obama's plan will result in the latter.

For so many reasons, we can't afford to kill responsible domestic energy production or clobber every American consumer with higher prices.

Can America produce more of its own energy through strategic investments that protect the environment, revive our economy and secure our nation?

Yes, we can. Just not with Barack Obama's energy cap-and-tax plan.

Obama's Rules for Campaigning, Governing

To understand the tactics used by Obama and his campaign guru David Axelrod, it's necessary to grasp the "rules" outlined long ago by radical labor organizer Saul Alinsky (in his "Rules for Radicals"). In the last campaign, John McCain and, especially, Gov. Sarah Palin faced such tactics. (In fact, Alinsky influenced both Hillary Clinton, who wrotea thesis on him, and Barack Obama.)

[Note: I'm cross-posting today with my other blog; tomorrow, I will return to offering different columns on each site.]

Supporters of Gov. Palin need to understand Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals." Frankly, there's no reason they can't be used AGAINST Obama and his minions. The following points summarize Alinsky's Rules and note how Obama/Axelrod used them in the campaign -- and continue to apply them to undermine potential opponents, such as Gov. Palin.
  1. “Rub raw the sores of discontent” – in other words, get irritated people angry enough to demand change, which was Obama's mantra;
  2. Convince skeptical and demoralized people that real change is possible (“Yes, we can!”);
  3. Understand that hopefulness can overcome a sense of powerlessness; (e.g., Obama's stress on 'hope");
  4. Sharpen resentments, fan hostilities, and exploit controversies; (BO’s continual, contemptuous references to "George Bush!" and the targeting of Rush Limbaugh)
  5. Begin organizing by first disorganizing the community – to overcome complacency;
    Convince your opponent that your movement is invincible; (“This is OUR time.”)
  6. Stay within your people’s comfort zone – their limited experience (e.g., symbols are more effective than substance);
  7. Force your opponent outside his comfort zone to create uncertainty and fear;
  8. Demand your opponent obey his stated rules, which he usually won’t; (e.g., demanding that Obama's wife not be subject to any criticism -- "lay off my family," as BO said)
  9. Use ridicule to infuriate your opposition and generate overreaction (e.g., Obama’s “lipstick on a pig” reference to Palin);
  10. Apply tactics that your people enjoy carrying out (e.g., chanting slogans);
    Change your tactics regularly to keep your opponents off-balance; (e.g., wwitching attacks from Bush to McCain to Palin)
  11. Maintain constant pressure on the opposition to encourage confusion (e.g., make so many charges your opponent won’t be able to answer them);
  12. Threaten an extreme action, such as tying up a major highway, because it's more terrifying than carrying it out; (e.g., suggestions that if Obam lost, there would be “riots in the streets”)
  13. Have a constructive alternative to your opponents’ proposals; (“95% will get tax cuts”; a phony promise by Obama)
  14. Avoid vague abstractions by picking, personalizing, and polarizing the target (e.g., Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, or George Bush!);

If you go through these “Rules” line-by-line, you’ll be reminded of what Axelrod and Obama did (such as using fear and ridicule/smear tactics). You’ll also understand exactly how we must proceed to overcome Obama and his minions. Being “Mr. Nice Guy” and “Miss Nice Gal” will get us nothing.

Obama v. Palin on HealthCare

NOTE: This important column is a cross-post from my other site (http://draftpalin2012.blogspot.com). 90% of the time the posts will be different.
Photo by Al Grillo, Associated Press. Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, right, shakes hands with Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell before she gives the state of the state address to a joint session of the state Senate and House in the Capitol in Juneau, Alaska on Thursday Jan. 22, 2009.

It's fascinating to contrast what Gov. Palin says about health care with what Obama says (see link below to Sarah's State of the State Address yesterday). http://community.adn.com/adn/node/137075

"Simply increasing budgets every year, a common government practice, is no guarantee of success. More often, it's an incentive to failure. Good public policy is accountable for results, and focused on critical priorities.

"In this [Alaska legislative] chamber, we share a commitment to serious health-care reform. We've learned from experience that all the answers do not come from Washington. When Congress turns to health-care reform this year, we look to our delegation to make the case for greater competition, more private sector choices, and less litigation in the health-care market. But we're not going to wait. Here, reform can move forward without delay.

" . . . [H]ealth care reform on an individual basis is often just this simple: we could save a lot of money, and a lot of grief, by making smarter choices.

"It starts by ending destructive habits, and beginning healthy habits in eating and exercise. In my case, it's hard to slack when you have the ever-present example of an Iron Dogger [Todd Palin]nearby. But many of us could use a little more time in our great outdoors - and when you live in the Great Land, there's no excuse.

"Protecting good health is largely a matter of personal responsibility, but government policy can help. Our new Alaska Health Care Commission will recommend changes that affect the well-being of Alaskans far into the future."

As Sarah suggests, our individual health is largely (not completely, of course) self-determined If people behave irresponsibly (in eating, exercise, and other areas) there is no way to hold the line on costs, and people end up being sicker -- and dying earlier -- than necessary.

The most critical "reform" in health is a change of heart on the part of Americans -- a willingness to choose good health over the bad kind. There may be ways to drive down costs -- especially through the use of technology and "virtual clinics" for exams -- that will not compromise the quality of care. Mail order prescriptions save my wife and I about $1,000 per year, and if that gets mutliplied by hundreds of million people, it's a painless way to cut overall health care costs. (Admittedly, mail order is not for everyone.)

Most of our society's supposed problems have relatively simple solutions. The reason they don't get solved by someone like Obama is that he's mainly interested in paying off his political supporters/voters, most of whom have little interest in efficiency or cost-containment. Thus, the problems never get solved, except rhetorically.

On just about every issue, I admittedly emphasize cost-cutting. In higher education, for example, there's no reason -- in the age of the Internet -- for college costs to continue rising at twice the rate of inflation. Frankly, college costs should not be five times as much, adjusted for inflation, as they were when I attended the University of Rochester a generation ago. Where there's no real incentive for cost-cutting, there will be none, a reality that's lost on Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi.

I realize that there can't be such thing as a "virtual emergency room" or a "virtual obstetric procedure," but virtual "routine office visits," with perhaps a paramedic in attendance with the patient, should be possible.

My wife had a bad stroke in 1991, and she's been on Medicare since 1994, no going into her 15th year. In that time, her Medicare premiums have more covered the expenses in all but two years (one of which she had a gall bladder operation). In short, the government (the taxpayers) is a net winner with her. She eats well; she exercises regularly (more regularly, alas, than her husband0. She's an extremely prudent consumer of health care services. She realizes nothing is free. She has absolutely no desire to waste American resources.

Is Barack Obama going to encourage people to behave the way my wife does? Very unlikely. I fear Obama is going to overwhelm the health system, discourage young people from preparing for medical careers, and utlimately lead the nation to rationing.

Sadly, you're not going to hear this debate on CNN or MSNBC. They will continue to focus on Michelle's dress, the family's "labradoodle," and Barack's "Blackberry."

Media Hyenas Baying at Sarah

The following is a release from Paul Stetiz's 2012DraftSarahCommittee.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8DTSPzU0RI

When the British marched out of Boston toward Lexington and Concord, they marched in formation as had troops in Europe for generations. If they met the enemy the orders were given, "level, fire." The soldiers did not aim but merely leveled their rifles and fired at a distance of less than a hundred yards.

But the Colonial Minutemen did not mass up and level their rifles. They had used their rifles to hunt. They aimed their rifles to hit the target. And their targets were the officers (the leaders) of the British troops.

The left-wing journalists (MSNBC the most rabid of the cable channels) are recognizing what a threat Sarah Palin is and therefore, as with the British officers, they are targeting her. (Somehow they are not following Newt Gingrich.) It is amazing that they are sending a` crew to Alaska simply to follow Sarah around.

The objective is obviously to discredit Gov. Palin, that is to jump on a mistake, have her awkwardly answer a question, or in this case, juxtapose Sarah talking to a journalist against a background of what actually happens in a slaughtering house, they kill birds to eat.

Or as someone responded to me, I am telling you this, if I find out any of the turkey's I have ever eaten --- if our grocery store has been buying dead turkeys to sell us at Thanksgiving there is going to be heck to pay!!

Now to the simple-minded, (I am surrounded by such liberals at work), this incident is but further proof of Gov. Palin's incompetence, and much the subject of laughter, but the feeble minded are easily amused.

To Gov. Sarah Palin supporters, "get used to it." Gov. Palin is more a threat to Obama and the Democrats than any other person on the planet, and the left-wing is going to do everything possible to take her down. Such trivial incidents are going to be made much of, because on the big issues, she is very much in tune with the American public.

Leaders are not leaders because they have any specific set of characteristics. There is no paper test to take. Rather, leaders are leaders because they attract followers to listen to them, to understand them, to respect them and to support them. Sarah has that, that is why she is dangerous, and that is why left-wing crews are in Alaska to tape her every move.

She is a threat to them and they know it.
You betcha!

Paul Streitz
Gov. Sarah Palin flyer, poll, buttons, etc. available at www.2012draftsarahcommittee.com.

p.s. please forward this email to your friends.

Is the mainstream media really out "to get Sarah Palin." You betcha. Paul Streitz explains why in the material above. To find out more about Paul and his efforts, go to: www.2012draftsarahcommittee.com. Paul's release shows what we're up againt. The next issue, one I'll be exploring this week on my "Sarah" blog (http://draftpalin2012.blogspot.com), is what we do about it. Basically, we need to let the MSM know we're very much aware of their game -- and that they'll pay a heavy cost if they continue it.

We have some great advantages, including some of the best writer-activists in America who strongly back Gov. Palin. One is Paul Stretiz. Another is Cindy Reidhead, who blogs at: thepinkflamingoblog.com. Cindy is an expert on American icon Wyatt Earp. She's also an expert on how to win elections. People like Cindy and Paul will be critical components in the "new media" that is rendering the MSM increasingly irrelevant.

David Letterman Hates Sarah Palin

The national effort to get the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to stick its thumb in David Letterman's eye is a good one. As you'll see in the letter from Emily (of TeamSarah.org, below in italics), Letterman has taken to insulting Gov. Sarah Palin -- and the example Emily cites isn't the only one.

As a group, we aren't YET strong to "bring down" a David Letterman, but we're getting there. Our model should be the massive, effective criticism of leftists (and misogynists) Chris Mathews and Keith Olberman of MSNBC. We didn't get them fired, but we reduced their status -- and put the entire media on notice that blatant bias and propaganda aren't acceptable. We need to do the same for Letterman.

My intention is to spend several days writing (on my Sarah blog) about Letterman and a few other media simpletons who deserve condemnation. I hope other bloggers and onliners will do the same.

People like Letterman have done great damage to our country. They have nothing of value to say. They promote a culture of self-absorption, materialism, and human degradation. They're as ignorant as their "guests," nonentities like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Janet Jackson.

The last time I watched an entire "Letterman Show" was in 2001, right after 9/11. His guest was Dan Rather. It was clear that neither man had any grasp of what had transpired at the WTC and the Pentagon, let alone the heroic actions of the Americans aboard Flight 93.

They had no understanding of the Middle East, the Islamic religion, or the al Qaeda terrorists . Both of them ended up blubbering, paddling around in a sea of self-pity. It was a disgraceful episode.

It's impossible to separate the decline of the American media -- would any sane person spend a significant amount of time watching CNN or reading the Washington Post? -- from the election of Barack H. Obama.

A nation nurtured by Letterman, Oprah, and (three-out-of-four) ladies of "The View" is likely to elect a demagogic windbag like Obama. A country that's dumbed down and desensitized can't resist a man who talks much -- and says little. Obama would be a perfect guest on Letterman: a gabby "celebrity" of limited accomplishments and insights.

The character and values represented by a Sarah Palin mystify most of the media. Since they essentially believe in nothing, they exist as little more than pampered, opinionated children. When they encounter an adult, a Sarah, they react with fear and loathing. She reminds them of their own shallowness and immaturity. Anyway, I hope you will write a short e-mail -- in your own words -- to the FCC [see below]. When it comes to Letterman, let them know that, in the words of Queen Victoria, "we are not amused."EMILY'S MESSAGE IS BELOW:

A message to all members of Team Sarah

Such hypocrites! Two nights ago, David Letterman, in interviewing Katie Couric, described Gov. Palin as "the first vice presidential candidate that I found myself being aroused about."

It is ghastly that this kind of discourteous, indecent talk should pass for conversational fodder -- even on late night TV.

This violates CBS's own "Program Practices" specifically states that: "The Program Practices editors review material for excessive or gratuitous violence, sexuality, nudity and inappropriate language. They ensure that character portrayals are sensitive to current ethnic, religious, sexual and other significant social concerns." http://www.cbspressexpress.com/div.php/cbs_network/page/program_practices

A violation? What do *you* think? Well, don't just think it! Make your voice heard.

Email the Federal Communications Commission!

Email fccinfo@fcc.gov, tell them your name, where you are from, and EXACTLY how you feel about Letterman taking indecent liberties with a dignified lady, mom, and governor on his show!--

Morris: Palin GOP Ticket Savior

Mother and daughter . . .
I'll be writing tomorrow and this weekend about why Obama's toadies in the media dislike Sarah Palin. The only one who seem to like her -- in addition to me and my readers -- are the American people.

If you read Dick Morris' piece above (click on the link), you'll see the powerful, positive effect she had on the GOP campaign.

PAC Supports Sarah Palin

Will Gov. Sarah Palin end up running all the way from Wasilla, Alaska, to the White House?

The following blog article on Sarah Palin and the Our Country Deserves Better PAC is from the New York Times. You can visit my regular Palin blog by clicking here.

November 11, 2008, 5:49 pm — Updated: 12:45 pm -->Palin’s Appeal Proves DurableBy Sarah Wheaton

As she seeks to recover politically from her failed election bid on Senator John McCain’s ticket, the big question for Gov. Sarah Palin has been whether her backers would remain enthusiastic over the long run.

As it turns out, over the past few days, about 1,000 people have donated tens of thousands of dollars to Our Country Deserves Better, a political action committee that is planning a pro-Palin advertisement later this month.

“We thought it would be appropriate to have the thank-you ad run around Thanksgiving,” said Joe Wiezbicki, the PAC’s coordinator. The group expects to shoot on Monday and raise “a couple hundred thousand dollars” to buy airtime nationally.

Our Country Deserves Better, based in Sacramento, was founded during the campaign to draw contrasts between Senator Barack Obama and John McCain, holding a cross-country, 40-stop tour and even running a pro-Palin commercial. Ms. Palin’s nomination brought praise from conservatives, and she drew large, enthusiastic crowds.

But now, Mr. Wierzbicki said, there has been “an absence of a pro-Palin cohort.”

“This woman’s reputation is going to be so damaged that she can never be a national political figure,” he added. So the goal of the ad is to “preserve her options.”

Mr. Wierzbicki said he was “surprised” by the response so far, which he called a “testament to her”, given typical post-election fatigue, especially on the losing side.

“I don’t think we would’ve seen the same level of response” if the planned spot were to defend Mr. McCain, he said.

Sarah Palin for POTUS: 2012

It's not exactly a secret that I have a new blog -- http://draftpalin2012.blogspot.com/ -- that I hope to keep going through Inauguration Day, 2013. On that day, the woman above should be be installed as America's first female President. If you want to be a part of that process, please come to the DraftPalin2012 site and learn what you can do to make it all happen. In the future, this Steve Maloney GOP site will continue. I'll cross-post columns on another site: http://camp2008victorya.blogspot.com/. I appreciate the 60,000 hits this site has had, and I hope you all keep returning.

If we have a million-plus activists, "boots on the ground," by 2011 -- including your boots -- we can take the next election. We can't win it by hoping. We can win it by working . . . organizing . . . and communicating.

I'll be writing more about Gov. Sarah Palin's remarkable rally Thursday night in Beaver, PA, a few miles from where I live. I have tremendous admiration for the Governor and her wonderful family. I met a number of superb women yesterday, including Alexandra, who was taping a program for HBO and Melissa Hart, a fine candidate for Congress in western PA.

On my Hillary Supporters for McCain blog, which is not long for this world, I'll be talking a great deal this week about the strengths of Sarah Palin and the manifold deficiencies of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Come visit.

Economics, Obama, Stupid Voters

"The number of ignorant people in America is growing much faster than the number of intelligent ones." (Chris H, paraphrase)

The Saturday morning business segment on FOX News has its moments of silliness and posturing. But if you listen carefully, you'll learn more about jobs and the economy in one morning than the average Obama Supporter has learned in a lifetime.

For example, "the top 10% of wage-earners [Joe the Plumber is smiling] pay 80% of federal income taxes." Barack Obama knows this startling fact, but you'll never hear him or and other left-wing Democrats admit it. The average American, according to various surveys, knows nothing about the huge "patriotic" (?) "contributions" (?) made by high wage earners. Our typical American apparently believes -- falsely, absurdly -- that high wage-earners pay little or nothing in taxes.

People like Obama and Biden make lucrative careers out of fostering such illusions. Alas, when its comes to economic knowledge, the average American is relentlessly . . . average. As such, he or she is the custodian of a vast horde of misinformation.

Another FOX insight: since the stock market crash in 1987, how much has the "tech-heavy" NASDAQ index declined? In fact, since that sharp market decline two decades ago, the NASDAQ has gone UP by 486%. That number takes into account the the recent decline.

If you focus on that time period (1987 until now), it would have been wise to put ALL your money in NASDAQ equities. Your investment then to now would have skyrocketed. Oh, and if you'd been able to put a portion of your Socal Security contributions into the NASDAQ, as Bush and McCain proposed -- and Obama opposed -- you'd be looking at an affluent retirement. Of course, your involuntary "contributions" to the Social Security Trust Fund really didn't grow at all -- since the money went out as fast as it came in.

Again, we turn to FOX: What about Obama's plan to dole out $500 (or more) to all Americans earning less than $250,000 a year? Isn't that just what he calls it, a tax "rebate?" No, it isn't because the $500 would go both to most of the 60% of wage earners who DO pay taxes -- and to all the 40% who don't pay taxes.

In other words, for approximately 100 million Americans who don't pay federal income taxes, the $500 would be a welfare check. It would be especially welcomed by Obama's core demographic: the tens of million of non-income-tax payors who will be voting for the Illinois Senator.

There are just a few paragraphs in this piece. But they contain information that most American voters should know -- but don't. The smart Americans, those who are economically savvy, will not generally be voting for Obama. The stupid Americans -- those who know as much about economics as they do astrophysics -- will cast their ballots heavily for the Illinois Senator.

Why do left-wing Democrats like Obama continue humoring -- and deceiving -- ignorant people, uninformed voters? They do so because it's good politics. They may end up wrecking the economy, but -- unfortunately -- such demagogues will rarely lack for work themselves.

Putting Obama in charge of the economy is like making Rev. Wright president of a theology school.

Sarah Palin's motto is: "Serve the people." Her motto, unlike Obama's, is NOT "delude the people."

Take Back America, Right Now

Sarah Palin, the brightest hope not just for America but for the Western World

I sent the following to 1,000-plus of my closest friends:

Dear Friends: I salute all of you who are involved in the Ground Game to ensure the election of John McCain and Sarah Palin. We need to reach out to friends, family, neighbors, and, yes, perfect strangers, to win on November 4.

The closeness of this election has been, at times, emotionally draining. But all of us have made many new friends and allies, some of them coming from unexpected backgrounds and political views. We need to ensure that never again does the U.S. have a presidential candidate like Barack H. Obama: inexperienced, unqualified, untrustworthy, and careless about protecting our country.

We in fact are going to take back this country. The goal of outstanding people like Chris Cook (http://modernconservative.com/), Jacquerie (http://wam98.com/), and Karen Hill (http://dncreform.com/) is to build organizations that will in combination be much bigger and stronger than the extremists' Moveon.org.

I urge all of you to join these groups now..We need to hang together and not demand total agreement on every issue, but rather aim for mutual understanding and unity on shared goals. There will be a lot more about this right after the election.

In her debate with the Washington Windbag Biden, Sarah Palin talked about an America chracterized by "liberty, tolerance/respect, and opportunity." That's a real good starting point.
God bless all of you.

Activists Helping John McCain Win

I've been wearing my Sarah Palin "Guns and God" tee-shirt in PA, and it's been attracting a lot of attention. You can get one by clicking on the Sarah logo on the sidebar.

Today on Clintons4McCain Blog Talk Radio (Saturday, 5-6 p.m. ET) our primary guest will be Jean Avery, founder of http://moms4mccain.blogspot.com. You can find the archieved broadcast by clicking on the following link: http//:blogtalkradio.com/clintons4mccain

Jean Avery has turned her "little" group of American moms into a countrywide organization. She's one of the most innovative activists in the nation and has developed many fascinating concepts, including what she calls "nap-time politics."

Next week we'll feature two African-Americans who are spearheading the campaign against Obama and for McCain-Palin. They'll be Lloyd Marcus and Tanya Crews.The co-hosts of the program will be Anne Franklin of Texas and Steve Maloney of Pennsylvania.

Our emphasis from now until the election will be on "ground-game" activities (calling, canvassing, e-mailing, etc.) that are essential to winning the election.

A second point: I'm asking everyone in our huge coalition to join the action-oriented group known as "Wake-Up America." You can join today by going to: http://wam08.com It will explain exactly what you can do to get out the vote for McCain-Palin. WAM will make common cause with ALL groups dedicated to the election of John McCain and Sarah Palin.

A final point: one of the country's best organizations at attracting Democrats and Independents to McCain-Palin has been: http://dncreform.org. They're influencing votes around the country, but they need your financial support -- even a few dollars will help -- to continue their efforts. Please assist them.

Again, I'd like to thank all of you for your efforts on behalf of Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin. The practical actions we take will ensure victory on Nov. 4.

Political Pollsters: Sometimes Dead Wrong

Note: I'll have more on the political polls tomorrow. My general advice is to look at them with some skepticism . Gov. Sarah Palin is moving the polls in ways the MSM hasn't yet figured out. So, stay tuned . (P.S. You can buy a Sarah tee-shirt by clicking on the logo to your right.)

Okay, Zogby has Obama ahead by two points (as did Diageo, which has been in the tank for Obama), and Hotline has it at one point. I've written recently about what we should do (fight like h--l) "when we take the lead again." I said I thought that would happen sometime around the beginning of the third week of October but perhaps as late as early November. Obama all through the primaries "over-polled" and "under-performed in the voting booth."

In the PA Primary (April 22), Wolf Blitzer and others said the race was "tightening" and we even heard their favorite cliche ("too close to call"). I said that Hillary Clinton would win by 10 percentage points. On April 23, it was at 10 points, although it fell to 9.2% by the end of the day. I do know PA voters (ornery!).

I also predicted Clinton could win OH, TX and IN, in all of which Obama "over-polled." Sen. Clinton won all three.In 2004, Gallup came under heavy criticism from the far-Left for having "too many Republicans" in its survey template. Like terrified rabbits, Gallup changed its legendary template ("the gold standard"). As a result, it got both the national and the state races wrong.It said in early November, 2004 that Bush would win PA by two points and Kerry would win Ohio by two points.

I told the editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that maybe Gallup had gotten the states confused. Kerry won PA by three points, and Bush won Ohio by two points. Gallup also predicted that Kerry could win FL, which he lost by hundreds of thousands of votes.

There has been a lot of talk about "the Bradley Effect," referring to the fact that voters tell pollsters that they will vote for a Black man -- and then don't. It does exist in this campaign, and there are a (very) few people trying to figure out its effect on this year's election. Why do people tell pollsters "fibs?" Because they think (correctly) that's what the pollsters want to hear.

One great caller in Beaver County, PA (Audrey) is so sweet and friendly that when she asks voters if they support John and Sarah, EVERYBODY SAYS YES!

Gallup's "internal numbers" have had McCain ahead as recently as last week (45-39), but it's buying the heavy "new" (Black mostly) vote theory, so it put McCain behind. Say what?? In the PA primary, Obama lost approximately 60 counties out of 67. He won some suburban Philly counties by relatively narrow margins. He won Philly (big), Pittsburgh (city), Harrisburg, and downtown Lancaster. Otherwise, he didn't win squat. His support in PA is very soft.

So, beware the polls (especially CNN), my friends. I love those polls of course, but I don't really believe them on a day-to-day basis.

Sarah Palin: We Love You

By being creative and relentless, we will make sure the next vice-president of the US is Gov. Sarah Palin. I will be writing here about Sarah, a truly remarkable woman, on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week. The vicious campaign waged against her is really a campaign against the American people, the "normal Americans" who make this country work.

In order to get a "National Vote Bitter Day" Sarah tee-shirt, please click on the banner at the top of the sidebar to your right. If you have any trouble (and you won't), you can get in to see and purchase the material by clicking on the following: http://votebitter.com/steve. To make a purchase, you'll have to put in the promo code, which is my first name: steve.

One way you can generate the funds you need to help John and Sarah -- and to help the people who are campaigning full-time for them -- is to wear you "Vote Bitter" colors. Another way is to purchase 10 or 20 (or 50) tee-shirts and sell them at a small premium. Then, sink the money into campaign efforts. The product is inexpensively priced.

Palin: National "Vote Bitter" Day

In order to get a "National Vote Bitter Day" Sarah tee-shirt, please click on the banner at the top of the sidebar to your right. If you have any trouble (and you won't), you can get in to see and purchase the material by clicking on the following: http://votebitter.com/steve. In order to make a purchase, you'll have to put in the promo code, which is my first name: steve. Thanks for choosing to "Vote Bitter." Wear your shirt on November 4. Heck, wear it every day! Show your support for a "normal American," Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska. "Barack? In your face, my man." As the saying goes, "We ain't bitter -- just better."
On Monday, September 29, a national effort will be launched by many bloggers to get voters to "Vote Bitter." The goal is to get hundreds of thousands of voters in Battleground States and elsewhere to wear their "Vote Bitter" tee-shirts on election day, November 4. The project will entail a massive show of solidarity with Senator John McCain and, especially, Gov. Sarah Palin.

It will involve the sale of tee-shirts and other products. Many of the people involved, including yours truly, have been spending every spare moment of time -- and sinking every available dollar -- into the effort to elect John McCain and Sarah Palin. In my case and that of others, that's where every dollar accumulated from this effort will go between now and Election Day.

Tomorrow, I'll have up the URL links to all the bloggers who are participating. Some of them are among the most-visited sites on the blogosphere. In the meantime, please view the video and the audio. Between now and the launch at 11 a.m. Monday, visit what will be one of the most dynamic sites around: http://votebitter.com/. You'll be able to hear the radio ad that will promote the "Vote Bitter" undertaking.

On November 4, please "Vote Bitter." With your support, we will win this election.

Sarah Palin on Center Stage

I sent the following to the many bloggers and web site administators participating in efforts to ensure the eledtion of John McCain and Sarah Palin. If you dall into that category and have heavy traffic on your site, e-mail me at: TalkTop65@aol.com. -- Steve

Dear Bloggers and Web Site Administrators: I'm asking you to respond no later than Monday if you're interested in the following. The image above is dynamic, in-your-face and aimed especially at states with lots of hunters, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and Virginia.

Many of us will be offering this product for sale -- at $14 per shirt, which includes shipping. If you wish to offer it on your site, you will receive $1.00 (one dollar) for every one ordered from your site. All you would have to do is to put up a couple of simple gadgets (gidgets?) on your site. The order process will be simple, and it will be possible to get them through priority (or, even, I believe Fedex).

If you blog or site is active and gets 2,000 or more page visits per week (or soon will), it probably makes sense for you to participate. Your investment will be zero. Your administrative costs will be zero. Your risk also will be zero. If you decide to participate, you wiil have to fill out a simple form so that we can pay you legally.

Why am I supporting this effort? The key is that it will benefit McCain-Palin -- and may even have a small effect on their winning this election. In my case, every nickel "extra" I get -- and this has been true since February -- will go to the campaigns of John and Sarah and other candidates who back them.

What you do with the money you make -- a little or a lot -- is your own business. This being America, that's as it should be. If your site sells 5,000 products -- and some of them will -- you will get a check for $5,000.

I look forward to working closely with all of you in the years ahead as we continue to try to right the various wrongs we've seen in the political system and, especially, the media. Again, if you want to participate in this venture, please respond by e-mail before Monday noon.

I will send you the "affiliate" form as soon as I get your okay.This project will be well underway by Tuesday of next week. If it makes sense for you, I hope you'll participate. If you don't want to, just don't respond. If you know high traffic sites that might be interested, let me know.
If you're interested in multiple t-shirts, let me know by e-mail.

John McCain: A Winning Strategy

This message will go out to 1,000 bloggers and other onliners tomorrow. It's about how we are going to win this election for John McCain and Sarah Palin. Tracy (a political ally), Tracy, I'm going to distribute your site (http://talkstraight.org) widely tomorrow. I think we need to emphasize more and more practical steps (phone calls, contributing money, going door-to-door), the ground game, needed to win the election.

There are several issues that will continue to be "big," including William Ayers, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and Obama's ties to the people (Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson, Goldman Sachs executives, etc.) that caused the financial crisis. (Also, we need to continue branding Obama as vaguely alien, un-American.)

In PA and Ohio, Biden's anti-clean-coal remarks will be significant. I'm finding a lot of practical benefits in going into the Beaver GOP office, making some calls (not a lot), and urging people who come in -- many -- to volunteer their time. To win the election, Obama MUST carry Pennsylvania, and it increasingly looks like he will not be able to do so.

We've got to emphasize the McCain Online Phone Bank (http://www.johnmccain.com/PhoneBank/NoPhoneBank.aspxand) and actually get people to use it.

The key is not to overwhelm people (volunteers) -- and to give them simple instructions on what to do . . . and say. I'm emphasizing McCain's "creative and dynamic leadership" in choosing a qualified woman -- a fellow maverick -- as his running mate. For most voters, that will be enough.

It's a big task. We need a million people to make an average of 25 phone calls each -- and then for them to make another 25 in the last 10 days of the election. If we do that, we will win.

We really need to get simpler and simpler as the campaign proceeds.

People like Paul, who has great material on the ground game, Kathy Morrison, and Wendy are going to play more and more important roles. We also need to energize people in New Jersey (and perhaps even NY) to win those states.

This is a rather sobering message for bloggers, who like to debate sexy "issues," many of which are of little interest to the public. The election is now about character, who has it (John and Sarah) and who doesn't (Barack and Joe). McCain and Palin are atypical elected officials, while Obama and Biden are more of the same.
