Americans Volunteer For John McCain

"Would I consider a blanket commitment to meet with the leaders [Obama wants to meet with] in the first year of my presidency? Absolutely, positively no." (Joe Biden before he became BHO's V-P choice)

In the "NoBama" effort, we are getting a tremendous number of requests (thousands!) from people, especially disaffected Democrats, who want to help John McCain -- and need to know what to do next. Bloggers should consider reprinting this on their own sites.

I'm asking everyone to join Clintons4McCain, NoBama Mission, and RealDemocratsUSA (all pro-McCain). If they want, people should e-mail me (at TalkTop65@aol.com ), and I promise to provide specific information within 24 hours of whom to contact and what to do. Please provide your state and the nearest city. You are very much wanted and appreciated.

Also helpful: on http://johnmccain.com, there is a link for volunteers in the Citizens for McCain effort. Kathy Morrison's sites are very useful, including: http://purplepeoplevote.blogspot.com and http://mccainbloggerresources.blogspot.com. If you're a blogger and want to join NoBama Mission Bloggers (and get USEFUL material on blog tactics), e-mail me at: TalkTop65@aol.com. If you e-mail, I will get back to you within a reasonable period of time.

In the meantime, the best thing you can do is to write e-mails to friends, family, and associates. Communicate your support for Sen. John McCain. You don't have to give a lot of reasons for your backing McCain -- one or two will do. Let them know they're not alone.

You might emphasize McCain's experience in times of crisis and, if you were a Hillary backer, highlight Mrs. Clinton's statement that she and McCain had "a lifetime of experience" and BHO had only "a speech he delivered in 2002." You can also use President Clinton's statement that John McCain "has given everything he could to his country -- except his life."

Frankly, John McCain is an authentic American hero -- and Barack Obama is a classic Chicago politician. 'Nough said.If you want hard-hitting material on the election, keep visting this site. Also, go to http://talkstraight.org, which is devoted to separating fact from fiction.

We intend to win this election, but we can't do it without your help. Thanks -- and God bless.

Obama Picks Biden the Blowhard

"Presumably a President Obama would put Biden over in some corner, adjacent to a potted plant."

At videoboard, you can find out how to get great videos of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, John Edwards, Chris Dodd, and various other Democrats during the Primaries. They're the videos and images Obama doesn't want you to see.

In picking Joe Biden, Obama went with one of the biggest blowhards in the history of the Senate. When Biden announced in 2007 that he was running for President, one columnist described him as a "human gaffe machine." Democrats nationally have never been impressed by Biden. In the Democrat Primaries in 2008, Biden got a grand total of 9,000 votes. Hillary Clinton got in excess of 18 million. Presumably a President Obama would put Biden over in the corner, adjacent to a potted plant.

If you want a video widget for your blog, please go to the same site: http://videoboard.gop.com. There, you can copy and paste the code. Notice the VideoBoard widget on my sidebar. At the web site, you'll find links to many videos. You'll also find out what Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton really think about the inexperienced Sen. Obama.

If you're looking for the shocking new piece on how the Obama campaign has gone after Cristi Adkins, co-founder of Clintons4McCain and Nobama Mission, please scroll down to the previous column. It has drawn thousands of visitors, and I appreciate your interest in this story of the Obama Campaign's thuggery

If you want to support Cristi, please join Clintons4McCain and Nobama Mission. As you may know, the Obama text-messages about the Biden announcement were a scam. They had nothing to do with informing people. They had everything to do with using surreptitious means to grab information -- esssentially to get individual's cell phone numbers. The "announcement" came several hours after the media had broken the news.

Hopefully, millions of people's cell phones will not be awakening them regularly at 3 a.m.

NOTE: One of the best sites for revealing Obama's constant prevarications about his life and career is at: http://talkstraight.org. It's definitely worth many visits.

Cristi Adkins Beating Barack Obama

"Barack Obama is trying to give Cristi Adkins the same mugging he did to Hillary Clinton. This time he's not going to succeed."

[On Sunday, I'll reveal "Obama's VP Text-Message Scam." Was Obama really sending out 3 a.m. messages on his Biden choice? Of course not. He was deceiving people with an "information grab," gathering cell phone numbers from individuals he'll contact many times -- perhaps always at 3 a.m.]

Cristi Adkins is mad as hell at Barack Obama, and she isn't going to take it -- his narcissistic, thuggish, dishonest campaign -- anymore. She's mad because Obama-bot have hacked your computers, sent her hate-filled e-mails, and even threatened her life.

She refuses to be intimidated.

Cristi is one of the most effective "Hillary Supporters", a woman who's working 14-hour-days to ensure the defeat on Nov. 4 of the man she calls "Hussein." She calls him that because she believes -- correctly -- that he has only a tangential connection to American values. His history demonstrates that he's much more at home in Kenya than in mainstream America, which is too "bitter" for his rarified tastes.

Obama and his sycophants despise what Cristi, a co-founder of Clintons4McCain and NobamaMission, is doing, and they've responded by initiating a campaign of hatred and innuendo against her.Cristi is a mom (two teenagers and a three-year-old), a wife, a veteran (former MP), and a nurse. The father of her two teenagers just came home from a combat tour in Afghanistan.

In short, she's the kind of American with whom Obama and his fellow elitists have nothing in common. Why does she bug Obama so much? Mainly because she's frequent guest on shows hosted by people by Neil Cavuto, Sean Hannity, Jim Bohannon. She's even been on the "Daily Show."

Right now, she's headed to Denver to "Just Say No Deal" to Barack H. Obama. She's a force in contemporary politics. For that reason, she's been the target of absurd attacks by bloggers who serve as cheerleaders for BHO.

To many of the people reading this blog: Were you aware that Obama PAYS his bloggers? Most of them get roughly $7 an hour, and some apparently receive much more. That would come as news to people who visit their sites and believe they're getting something approximating "straight talk." In fact, those bloggers are presenting all the "news" that fits with the Obama agenda.

In our own NoBama Mission Bloggers, a brainchild of Cristi Adkins and others in the NoBama Mission effort, we will have 200 blogs by the end of this day. How many of them are paid by anyone? A grand total of zero. They are all volunteers -- just like me, just like Cristi, just like the other tens of thousand of people who center their lives around the NoBama effort.

One thing Cristi is asked is why she works with non-Democrats. Well, DUH! She founded Clintons4McCain. She didn't found Clintons4Nobody, or Clintons4theheckuvait. If you're against Obama with us, you're among friends.

The NoBama effort is perhaps the most diverse coalition in American history. It consists of Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and even a stray Libertarian or two. In that effort, there are liberals, moderates, and conservatives. There are no far-left crazies or America-haters, unlike Obama's own scary group.

What binds our people of so many different views together is a commitment to the following statement: "Barack Obama is too inexperienced, too unqualified, too untrustworthy, and too dangerous to be POTUS." Anyone who shares that view is welcome in our coalition.

The hate campaign by Obama, his staffers, and his bought-and-paid for bloggers against Cristi is similar to the effort they waged against Hillary Clinton. Of course, she has been one of the more liberal members of the Clinton Administration and the U.S. Senate.

Many Black members of Congress backed her bid for the presidency. Those who did so are now being punished by Obama at the Democratic National Convention. Charlie Rangel, one of the most important members of the House and a Clinton backer, has NOT been invited to speak.

For her efforts on behalf of civil rights and liberal causes, Hillary Clinton was branded by Obama and his surrogates as a warmonger, a liar, and a racist. Geraldine Ferraro, also a long-time proponent of civil rights, was also labeled a racist, as was President Bill Clinton.

Given this background by Obama and his minions, it's no surprise that Cristi Adkins is under attack. Of course, she isn't being defamed for her statements about Obama, all of which are factual. Instead, they're trying to bleed her to death with a thousand pinpricks. She's accused of saying this (maybe) once, or of knowing this person or someone else, or of advocating this-or-that.

Does Cristi head right to the front-lines, where the chances of taking political shrapnel are the greatest? If you've ever seen her in action, you know she does. Also, she "pushs the envelope." She takes after "Hussein" in creative, imaginative ways. Most of these efforts work, and some don't, which is par for the course with risk-takers.

The main "charge" against Cristi is that she once was in a business venture that didn't work out. Big deal. There are probably 150 million Americans, including this one, who are in the same boat.

In fact, Cristi -- my friend and political ally -- is one of the single most effective spokeswomen in America against Obama. As long as that remains the case -- and it will through November 4 -- Obama and his meanspirited, robotic followers will try to destroy her. In other words, they will try to "Hillary-boat" her, just as they did the junior Senator from New York.

I have news for the man Cristi calls "Hussein." You will not succeed. You will not win this election. You are up against people who will not rest until John McCain sends you back to the Chicago political machine that spawned you.

What can the readers of this piece do in support of Cristi Adkins, American? You can go to Clintons4McCain and NoBama Mission and sign up as members of those organizations. Many thousands of people have already done. Please do it for Cristi -- and do it for America. Now.

Note: Below is the link to the Jim Bohannen show on which Cristi Adkins appeared. It's very much worth listening to.http://search.everyzing.com/viewMedia.jsp?dedupe=1&index=8&col=en-all-public-ep&e=20600582&il=en&format=xml&num=10&scol=pod&mc=en-all&start=0&q=networks&expand=true&match=query,channel&filter=1

HIGH SCHOOL HOWLERS

Funny metaphors used in high school essays

Just in case you need some writing inspiration. Every year, English teachers from across the USA can submit their collections of actual analogies and metaphors found in high school essays. These excerpts are published each year to the amusement of teachers across the country. Here are last year’s winners:

1. Her face was a perfect oval, like a circle that had its two sides gently compressed by a Thigh Master.
2. His thoughts tumbled in his head, making and breaking alliances like underpants in a dryer without Cling Free.
3. He spoke with the wisdom that can only come from experience, like a guy who went blind because he looked at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it and now goes around the country speaking at high schools about the dangers of looking at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it.
4. She grew on him like she was a colony of E. coli, and he was room temperature Canadian beef.
5. She had a deep, throaty, genuine laugh, like that sound a dog makes just before it throws up.
6. Her vocabulary was as bad as, like, whatever.
7. He was as tall as a six-foot, three-inch tree.
8. The revelation that his marriage of 30 years had disintegrated because of his wife’s infidelity came as a rude shock, like a surcharge at a formerly surcharge-free ATM machine.
9. The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn’t.
10. McBride fell 12 stories, hitting the pavement like a Hefty bag filled with vegetable soup.
11. From the attic came an unearthly howl. The whole scene had an eerie, surreal quality, like when you’re on vacation in anothercity and Jeopardy comes on at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30
12. Her hair glistened in the rain like a nose hair after a sneeze.
13. The hailstones leaped from the pavement, just like maggots when you fry them in hot grease.
14. Long separated by cruel fate, the star-crossed lovers raced across the grassy field toward each other like two freight trains, one having left Cleveland at 6:36 p.m. traveling at 55 mph, the other from Topeka at 4:19 p.m. at a speed of 35 mph.
15. They lived in a typical suburban neighborhood with picket fences that resembled Nancy Kerrigan’s teeth.
16. John and Mary had never met. They were like two hummingbirds who had also never met.
17. He fell for her like his heart was a mob informant, and she was the East River.
18. Even in his last years, Granddad had a mind like a steel trap, only one that had been left out so long, it had rusted shut.
19. Shots rang out, as shots are wont to do.
20. The plan was simple, like my brother-in-law Phil. But unlike Phil, this plan just might work.
21. The young fighter had a hungry look, the kind you get from not eating for a while.
22. He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck, either, but a real duck that was actually lame, maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.
23. The ballerina rose gracefully en Pointe and extended one slender leg behind her, like a dog at a fire hydrant.
24. It was an American tradition, like fathers chasing kids around with power tools.
25. He was deeply in love. When she spoke, he thought he heard bells, as if she were a garbage truck backing up.

Catholics Can't Vote for Obama

"Continue My Work, Barack." Let's see, wasn't Jimmy Carter's "energy plan" for all of us to wear thick sweaters and two pairs of socks. With Barack's plan, make that three pairs of socks.

The following guest column by Hispanic and Roman Catholic Tracy Karol is a "production" of NoBamaMission, in which both Tracy and I are leaders. We disagree somewhat on the issue of abortion, but we agree that denying injured infants medical care (basically, pretending they don't exist) is morally reprehensible.

In NoBamaMission, people have diverse views on issues, but we have a common goal: ensuring that Barack Obama does NOT become the next President. Please join and participate in NoBamaMission, which you can do by going to that web site and finding out the action steps it recommends.

Also, if you're planning to vote for John McCain (against Barack Obama) in the general election, join people of similar views on Clintons for McCain.

Finally, if you'd like to join the NoBamaMission bloggers (see blogroll to your right), contact me at: TalkTop65@aol.com. Most of those sites are up and running now -- and all will be soon. We can tell you how to increase dramatically the number of visitors your blog will get. NoBama Mission can teach you -- simply and quickly -- how to become a more effective advocate for the causes in which you believe. If you want to know exactly what NoBamaMission is up to, please visit this site every day. Thanks.

Obama and Catholics: A game of hide and seek

Barack Obama may quite well be the luckiest man in America.Somehow, he’s managed to play a balancing act with the far left – making promises about so many different things to different audiences I don’t know how he keeps them straight. (I’ll hit on those later). But his latest flip flop as he courts Independents, moderates and even goes after President Bush’s faith-based initiatives have to take the cake.

Somehow he’s managed to get the support of a group called Roman Catholics for Obama. It’s no secret that Catholics, including myself, have often voted for Democrats in the past. Even pro-life Catholics vote for Democrats. I’m Catholic, I’m Hispanic, and, being pro choice, while Independent that often was the deciding factor for me in choosing a candidate.

However, I do know the Church’s teachings on abortion, and while I may not agree with them, I never felt it was my right to take away another woman’s right – to a point. I felt, and do feel, that in the very early weeks a woman should have the right to choose what to do with her own body (although I believe education is a better option, but that’s another topic). And naturally if the mother’s life is at stake, that raises an entirely different issue.

When I discovered, however, how far Barack Obama was willing to go with his stance on abortion (it’s no wonder he’s been labeled the most liberal senator, a title he took away from Ted Kennedy), I was appalled.

This was early on in the primary, and it opened my eyes to some [disturbing] things about the Obama. In 2002, Congress passed the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, which gave caregivers the right to provide medical care to infants who were born alive as the result of an “oops” abortion. A nurse, Sharon Dunsmore, wrote about one such instance in which she quoted the pediatrician as saying the infant had “the audacity to survive.”

Familiar words? Audacity is a theme with Barack Obama, it seems. In any case, babies like this were, at that time, not given any care under the law, and healthcare providers were forced to allow them to die alone, often in closets or corners, when these babies clearly could survive with minimal care.

Who would oppose such a bill? Well, no one really. It easily passed, with even Ted Kennedy supporting it, as well as NARAL and other pro-choice groups. But then, Barack Obama was not yet a United States senator at that time, so he couldn’t vote on that bill. He did, however, vote on similar legislation in the Illinois State Senate. And his votes shocked and appalled the Catholic community.

In 2002 and 2003, Obama, as a state senator in Illinois, voted against similar legislation, and he went even further as chair of the Health and Human Services Committee when he blocked another attempt to bring legislation to the Illinois Senate. Would he have voted any differently at the federal level, and if so, why?

Now Barack Obama is pandering to the middle and has gotten [some] Catholics on his side, and not just those who traditionally vote Democratic. All the senators who voted for the Born Alive Infants Protection Act are backing him, along with some surprising endorsers: Senator Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), Democratic Governor Tim Kaine (Va.), Democratic Governor Bill Richardson (N.M.), Representative Patrick Kennedy (D-Mass.), Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.), and Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.), as well as Dan Rooney, owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team.

Other pro-life Democrats are also backing Obama.A quote from The Catholic World Report makes clear its confusion on some Catholics' obvious, well, confusion about Barack Obama:

But no group of Catholics seems quite as odd as the one titled “Roman Catholics for Obama ’08,” which dubs Barack Obama “the best and right candidate for Catholic voters.” The group asserts: “[W]e, as Catholics, believe Catholics can and should vote for Barack Obama because his platform aligns well with Catholic Social Teaching.”

There’s much more, such as the group’s belief that Obama is against the death penalty (he’s not) and other ramblings. He certainly seems to have it fooled. But then again, fooling people is something he’s raised to an art form.

I was confused on this issue, because as I said I am pro-choice, but early on I was completely appalled by what I had heard about Obama’s stance on abortion and I thought it couldn’t possibly be true – until I did the research.

So I called another Catholic, someone who is also pro choice, but who is a more “observant” Catholic than I am – my mother.“It’s murder,” she said. “You’re right, I’m pro-choice, but what that man condones is just murder, nothing less.” She’s also a lifelong Democrat, who won’t be voting for Barack Obama.

For more information on Catholics and the Born Alive Infants Protection Act: http://www.ignatius.com/Magazines/CWR/kengor_june08.htm

How else is Obama balancing the left with the middle? His stance on the war in Iraq, which he doesn’t seem to know (or simply says something else to another audience); pandering to anti-gun groups unless speaking to gun owners (whom he later calls bitter people who cling to their religion); promising [improved] healthcare and to improve the economy (but failing to mention the astronomical rise in taxes to middle class and the slum of his own senatorial district).

He even tells the public and press what they can and cannot ask him about – his wife, his past, his associates. With Obama, it’s all a game of hide and seek. If you can’t catch him, maybe he can hide the truth (whatever that may be) long enough to win this election. Then God help us all.

Steve adds: Like Tracy and her mother, I am Roman Catholic. I do not see how anyone who claims to be Roman Catholic can vote for Barack Obama. Alas, if infants born alive in botched abortions could vote, I'm sure Obama would be much more concerned about them. When NoBama Mission says Barack Obama is "dangerous," this is what we mean. A presidential candidate who has no real respect for life? As Tracy says, "God help us."

Clintonistas Moving Strongly to McCain

If you're into YouTube, here's a link to an extremely important video by Carly Fiorina, former CEO of H-P and a strong possibility for V-P on McCain's ticket. The video is about why she supports John McCain and her praise of Hillary Clinton. Very, very good message http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8qq3hrw5fk

The video could serve as a model for all Republican candidates, especially those working hard to get backing from Hillary Supporters. On another blog, I write today about "My Life Among Clintonistas," talking about who those Hillary Supporters are and what they want from candidates.

I work closely with Democrats and Independents in the effort called NoBamaMission. I'm one of 15 national leaders of a movement currently involving more than one million people (and growing).

__________________________

A lot of candidates -- presidential and congressional -- are wondering: what on earth happened to "The" issues? In other words, what has occurred with what we all thought were going to be "The Issues?" What happend to the Iraq War? Or Afghanistan? Or health care? Or national security? Or immigration? Or education? Or even pork-barrel spending (still and issue, but a lesser one)?

The answer is that they've all faded, and the most important national concern is . . . gasoline prices. I suggest to GOP candidates across America how to take that issue and run with it -- right into "victory lane."

On my Pennsylvania blog, I write mainly about energy issues as they related to congressional races across the country. In the last several columns, I've written about why energy issues could destroy Democratic campaigns. Sen. Obama's "energy solution" is to let gas prices keep rising -- perhaps to $7 a gallon. That's not exactly a winning strategy. I hope you'll visit the Pennsylvania blog and, if you wish, leave your comments.

Right after the Pennsylvania Primary, when it was thought by many pundits that Sen. Clinton still had a chance, I formed the first "Hillary Supporters for McCain" blog. It's had 5,000 visitors, and it might have 50,000 by the election. It's at: http://hillarysupportersformccain.blogspot.com/.

I've been working closely with Hillary Supporters who are now backing McCain -- or probably will do so at some point. My current columns there are titled "My Life Among the Clintonistas." I discuss who they are -- and why they may be the most critical voting bloc in America. I will be working with "Clintonistas" right through Election Day. It will be my primary activity.

My primary work is with a group called Clintons for McCain. I'm also linked closely to the main "NoBama" directory at: http://nobamanetwork.com/ and http://nobamamission.com/. Please familiarize yourself with these crucial locations.

I hope you'll join Clintons for McCain and, if you have a group, blog, or web site, sign up at NobamaNetwork. I'm the only Republican in the leadership group of these profoundly important entities.

I'll have another column up here by noon on Thursday. Thanks for visiting.

Gaddafi Ensores "Muslim Brother" Obama

From: www.clintons4mccain.com.

Here's lifelong despot, tyrant and enemy of freedom Muammar Gaddafi professing his hatred for America and love for Barack Hussien Obama, "our Muslim brother" and falling in with the likes of China, Iran, and other despotic regimes in endorsing Obama.

Go to ClintonsforMcCain (click above) to see the video of Gaddafi endorsing "our Muslim brother" Barack H. Obama. Yikes. Frankly, dicatorships prefer Obama because they assume his personal weakness makes him easy to do business with.

Hug a Hillary Supporter Today!

Tell the truth: have you hugged a Hillary Supporter today?

I never thought I'd spend so much of my adult life trying to woo Hillary Supporters to vote for John McCain. Why do I do it? Because I've done the math. There are 18-plus million Hillary Supporters out there (actually more if you count potential voters in caucus states). If John McCain can get 5 million of those votes -- something that seems achievable -- then, early on Nov. 5, he will be President-elect.

The Hillary Supporters for McCain are just that important. That's not saying some of them can't be irritating and even exasperating.

Clinton Supporters for McCain who are not irritating/exasperating include the organization at http://www.clintons4mccain.com/. This group has 1700 members, is growing rapidly, and attracts roughly 10,000 visitors daily to its site.

Right now Clintons for McCain is engaged in a major fund-raising effort for John McCain. It's asking Hillary Supporters to add 44 cents to their donations (e.g., 44 cents, $5.44, or $100.44) to signify that it comes from Hillary Supporters. I'm going to contribute at McCainNow.com, but don't be surprised if I add 44 cents.

Perhaps an even more important site is http://www.hsfjm.com/. The acronym stands for Hillary Supporters for John McCain. It's been up only since May 31. How many visitors does its site meter show? "Only" 3.3 million (to-die-for numbers for this blogger). It also says it has 35,000-plus signed in members.

Oh, and hsfjm has a McCain PAC. When you visit the site -- and please do -- you'll see a "green rain" (i.e., money) button. If this site is as good as its numbers indicate, it could raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Senator McCain. Note, other Hillary-for-McCain groups are working to organize 527 groups that would independently support McCain.)

On the Yahoo Groups, the ClintonDemsAgainstObama is fascinating. I'd guess about half the people there are fairly solid for McCain. A few of them support Ralph Nader. Another segment insists it will stay home on election day, even though they strongly dislike Obama.

To my criticism of that stand, Abbey (one of the moderators and a strong McCain supporter) said: "Look, Steve, these people really are Democrats, and McCain was not their first choice . . . or even their second choice. So, voting for a Republican is difficult for them." Point well made, Abbey.

Some of the people counseling others to stay home -- and just restrict their anti-Obama feelings to steam-blowing -- may not have honorable. Frankly, some of them appear to be Obama-bots who are helping spread the campaign's message of demoralization to Hillary Supporters. (They're not hard to spot.)

Here's what one stay-at-home-Sue (actually, Hope) said on the Against Obama site:"Many people will not vote for McCain. Get used to it."

Here's how "MentistheMagnificent," a frequent poster, replied:"Then, [Hope], you will be one of the people who will help elect NObama, and that is simply the way it is. Who will you vote for, Hope? If you are here because you don't want NObama as president, you MUST consider voting for McCain to keep him [Obama] out. As the past has already taught us more than once Nader doesn't have a shot in hell. Any vote cast for Nader is a wasted vote. This time is it way WAY too important to cast a vote simply to waste it."

Hope is not alone on the ClintonDemsAgainst Obama group-- and thankfully, neither is Mentis. But a day's worth of time spent looking at the various posts -- and they are getting several thousand every week! -- can be emotionally draining. I spend a lot of my time trying to pick out the Obama-bots, and it's not hard to do so. Occasionally, I'd like to contribute a mild criticism of Hillary, which would get me kicked out of the group.

I believe it's important that I spend time at these sites. A lot of the "work" is hand-holding for people who almost never (or just plain "never") vote for Republicans. Some of the people there -- including Abbey and Mentis -- are politically sophisticated and sharp debaters. However, other participants are "yaller dog" Democrats (would vote for a "yellow dog" before a Republican).

A few of them believe a miracle will occur in Denver, and Hillary will get the nomination. As I suggested earlier, some seem poised to spend the next four months complaining loudly -- and then playing golf from dawn-to-dusk on Election Day.

But the Hillary Supporters -- exasperating or otherwise -- are critical to John McCain's chances.

I hope McCain Supporters will back up the many (hundreds?) of sites where people are figuring out what they'll do on Election Day. I know exactly what I'd like them to do!

Have you hugged a Hillary Supporter today?

Bulletin: Join Clintons for McCain

Note to all visitors (Democrats, Republicans, and Independents): Please go now to the above web site -- http://clintons4mccain.com -- and join as a member. The group's goal? "We will vote for Sen. John McCain not out of anger, not out of spite, but because he is an honorable American who may not speak the most eloquent words, or give the greatest speeches, but when he does speak we can believe him. On my blogs, I get many visitors from "overseas," paticularly Australia, Brazil, Canada, Great Britain, Mexico, New Zealand, and Portugal, and Eastern Europe. I even had one from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. One of my loyal visitors is pro-McCain (and pro-Palin) Australian Jim Fryar. You can find his blog at: http://jimmunro.blogspot.com/. I very hope you'll visit Jim's site regularly.

Many of my non-U.S. visitors want to support John McCain, and I get asked if they can make contributions to http://johnmccain.com/. For example, I got the following comment from a French Canadian, Tym, who blogs at: http://tymachine.blogspot.com/.:

Stephen:"Is it legal for Canadians and people from other countries to financially contribute to the John McCain campaign?"I see that Barack has managed to gather 3 times more money than John did. Does that do him any good to his [Obama's] tarnished image?"

The short answer to Tym's question about people from outside the U.S. contributing directly (key word) to McCain is: No. It's against U.S. law for non-U.S. citizens to donate to political campaigns (key phrase) under the control of candidates.

However, if a committee or group is outside the control of a presidential candidate, foreign national can contribute. Such donations would be similar to ones made, for example, to the American Red Cross or a U.S. church. In my previous column, I strongly urged all people supportive of John McCain -- Republicans, Democrats, Independents, foreign nationals, and U.S. citizens -- to join one of the (many) groups of Hillary Clinton Supporters for McCain. I specifically mentioned http://clintons4mccain.com/. That's a group (nearly 1300 members and growing fast) that opposes the election of Barack Obama -- and backs the election of John McCain.

Why can foreign nationals send contributions to Clintons for McCain? Because it's a group not under the control of McCain's "official" campaign, donating to that group (which I urge you to do) would be no different than contributing to me (which I urge you NOT to do).Clintons for McCain is not a group fixated on debating the pros-and-cons of Mrs. Clinton's views. In fact, it's a group where most members -- although not all -- agree with Sen. Clinton on her political positions.

Instead, Clintons for McCain is dedicated to preventing the election of Barack Obama and encouraging the election of John McCain.

Thus, I urge what we call "foreign nationals" to contribute as much as they can to such groups. I'm sure a $10 contribution (which I've made) would be welcome. I bet larger contributions might be even more welcome.CNN noted today (what took them so long?) that there's tremendous interest outside the U.S. in this country's presidential election.

I hope a lot of that interest will be translated into contributions to organizations supportive of McCain -- but not under the control of his campaign. Clintons for McCain would be a great place to start.
