Obama's Racism, McCain's Character

McCain-Hillary image from www.johnmccain.com. Hallelujah. If you have a blog or web site, please copy and paste!

Major Bulletin from PUMAPAC to McCain Supporters.

PUMA, recently re-dubbed "Party Unity My Ass" (originally "People United Means Action") needs your support and your money.

"Why Obama & Dean Fear 4 Million!"

"The fear that the PUMA community and their silent supporters will realize the power of their fundraising. If just half of those 4 million who do not support Obama were to immediately give $10 to both the McCain campaign and PumaPac, the influx of cash would spread the Puma message like a wildfire through the media while providing the McCain campaign with the extra resources they need to overcome the wealthy who have funded 60% of Obama's campaign. If the just half of this 4 million were to contribute the media would be forced to question a campaign that they have more often referred to as a "movement", than as the "political campaign" it is."--J. Brown, June 29, 2008, Politically Drunk on Power. I have given my $10 to PUMAPAC and $25 to McCain. Please do the same.

"The content of his character" (a phrase from Martin Luther King). In terms of character, Barack Hussein Obama has none.

Obamaphiles love playing the "race card" any time they run into someone who supports John McCain. Especially when it's Hillary Clinton supporters who now do. They insist that since "Hillary and Obama's policies are nearly the same," there MUST be discrimination and racism involved.

They never consider that it's not the color of the skin -- it's the content of character, of which Barack Hussein Obama has none.

This insistent, shallow view they have comes from simple blame-shifting in advance. They've already created their ready-made excuse for when their Anointed One gets wiped out in November. There's a history of this, going all the way back to 1980 really, where the DNC will put out its advance talking points for "why we lost" well in advance of the general election.

We've heard them all, they blame-shift each time. They blame the people for just being "uneducated," they blame evangelicals, they blame "biased media," they blame "the rich" they blame "big business" they blame "vote fraud" they blame "right-wing talk radio" they blame "faux news." They make all these excuses in advance, so they can later say these excuses with a straight face and get you to believe them.

This time? The excuse in advance for Obama losing is "racism."

It's never about ideas, it's never really about "change," it's never about the fact that the PEOPLE simply reject extremist leftist socialism. It's always about blame shifting and total lack of ideas and total disconnect with intelligent Americans. It's about good old fashioned Nazi-style propaganda.

They say things like, "we just didn't get our message out"; well, YES YOU DID!!

That's the whole PROBLEM! You got your "message" out, and the people REJECTED it!

They can NEVER say things like, "the people just didn't trust our candidate" or, "our agenda was too far leftist for Americans." They have to blame "gun-toting bible-thumpers" and "bitter people" and in this case, definitely "racism" is the big club, the ace in the hole for ObamaBots and Obamaphiles.

They can't, never have, and never will tell the truth about why they lost, just like their candidates can never really tell the truth about what they stand for -- because Americans simply won't eat that can of corn.

Note: This piece is reprinted from Clintons for McCain, an important group founded by Cristi Adkins, Peter Boykin, and Anne M. Franklin, all originally supporters of Hillary Clinton. I urge you to join this group, which you can do by going to: http://clintons4mccain.com/.

Beginning Monday afternoon, I'll launch a series called, "My Life Among the Clintonistas." It will be about my dialogue -- and my arguments -- with Hillary Clinton Supporters who aren't certain what to do next.

Hug a Hillary Supporter Today!

Tell the truth: have you hugged a Hillary Supporter today?

I never thought I'd spend so much of my adult life trying to woo Hillary Supporters to vote for John McCain. Why do I do it? Because I've done the math. There are 18-plus million Hillary Supporters out there (actually more if you count potential voters in caucus states). If John McCain can get 5 million of those votes -- something that seems achievable -- then, early on Nov. 5, he will be President-elect.

The Hillary Supporters for McCain are just that important. That's not saying some of them can't be irritating and even exasperating.

Clinton Supporters for McCain who are not irritating/exasperating include the organization at http://www.clintons4mccain.com/. This group has 1700 members, is growing rapidly, and attracts roughly 10,000 visitors daily to its site.

Right now Clintons for McCain is engaged in a major fund-raising effort for John McCain. It's asking Hillary Supporters to add 44 cents to their donations (e.g., 44 cents, $5.44, or $100.44) to signify that it comes from Hillary Supporters. I'm going to contribute at McCainNow.com, but don't be surprised if I add 44 cents.

Perhaps an even more important site is http://www.hsfjm.com/. The acronym stands for Hillary Supporters for John McCain. It's been up only since May 31. How many visitors does its site meter show? "Only" 3.3 million (to-die-for numbers for this blogger). It also says it has 35,000-plus signed in members.

Oh, and hsfjm has a McCain PAC. When you visit the site -- and please do -- you'll see a "green rain" (i.e., money) button. If this site is as good as its numbers indicate, it could raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Senator McCain. Note, other Hillary-for-McCain groups are working to organize 527 groups that would independently support McCain.)

On the Yahoo Groups, the ClintonDemsAgainstObama is fascinating. I'd guess about half the people there are fairly solid for McCain. A few of them support Ralph Nader. Another segment insists it will stay home on election day, even though they strongly dislike Obama.

To my criticism of that stand, Abbey (one of the moderators and a strong McCain supporter) said: "Look, Steve, these people really are Democrats, and McCain was not their first choice . . . or even their second choice. So, voting for a Republican is difficult for them." Point well made, Abbey.

Some of the people counseling others to stay home -- and just restrict their anti-Obama feelings to steam-blowing -- may not have honorable. Frankly, some of them appear to be Obama-bots who are helping spread the campaign's message of demoralization to Hillary Supporters. (They're not hard to spot.)

Here's what one stay-at-home-Sue (actually, Hope) said on the Against Obama site:"Many people will not vote for McCain. Get used to it."

Here's how "MentistheMagnificent," a frequent poster, replied:"Then, [Hope], you will be one of the people who will help elect NObama, and that is simply the way it is. Who will you vote for, Hope? If you are here because you don't want NObama as president, you MUST consider voting for McCain to keep him [Obama] out. As the past has already taught us more than once Nader doesn't have a shot in hell. Any vote cast for Nader is a wasted vote. This time is it way WAY too important to cast a vote simply to waste it."

Hope is not alone on the ClintonDemsAgainst Obama group-- and thankfully, neither is Mentis. But a day's worth of time spent looking at the various posts -- and they are getting several thousand every week! -- can be emotionally draining. I spend a lot of my time trying to pick out the Obama-bots, and it's not hard to do so. Occasionally, I'd like to contribute a mild criticism of Hillary, which would get me kicked out of the group.

I believe it's important that I spend time at these sites. A lot of the "work" is hand-holding for people who almost never (or just plain "never") vote for Republicans. Some of the people there -- including Abbey and Mentis -- are politically sophisticated and sharp debaters. However, other participants are "yaller dog" Democrats (would vote for a "yellow dog" before a Republican).

A few of them believe a miracle will occur in Denver, and Hillary will get the nomination. As I suggested earlier, some seem poised to spend the next four months complaining loudly -- and then playing golf from dawn-to-dusk on Election Day.

But the Hillary Supporters -- exasperating or otherwise -- are critical to John McCain's chances.

I hope McCain Supporters will back up the many (hundreds?) of sites where people are figuring out what they'll do on Election Day. I know exactly what I'd like them to do!

Have you hugged a Hillary Supporter today?

Hillary Clinton Versus Sarah Palin

As the world rightly focuses on the McCain-Obama contest, a battle is shaping up behind the scene -- one that pits two powerful women -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Gov. Sarah Heath Palin -- against one another. Why is Sarah Palin the woman the Democrats fear most? I'll try to answer that today (Sunday). If you scan through the previous columns, you'll find comments on both women.

Gov. Sarah Heath Palin welcoming home Alaskan soldiers who fought in Iraq. Gov. Palin's son, Track, age 18, is an infantry soldier in the U.S. Army.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton giving her concession speech on Saturday, June 10

Sarah Palin may very well be John McCain's choice for V-P on the Republican ticket. Barack Obama apparently doesn't want Hillary to be his V-P choice, but for purely political reasons he may choose her anyway.
Why do the Democrats fear the presence of Sarah Palin on the Republican ticket? In part, it's her legendary toughness (they don't call her "Sarah Barracuda" for no reason). But her main strength is her strong appeal to critical groups of voters. Consider:
Married women: Sarah's marriage to Todd Palin gives every evidence of being a model relationship. Sarah and Todd were childhood sweethearts, and they eloped shortly after she graduated from high school.
Young people: Sarah is only 44, and she exude youthfulness and energy. She has children ranging in age from 18 (son Track) to a few weeks (son Trig).
Military families: Sarah and Todd are a military family. Their son Track enlisted in the U.S. Army Infantry on September 11, 2007. It's extremely likely he will see combat duty in either Afghanistan or Iraq, or both.
Families with children: The Palins have five children, three of them teenagers, as well as daughter Piper, age 7, and baby Trig (a Norwegian name).
Reagan Democrats: Palin has the highest approval ratings of any major elected official in the U.S. -- in the 90% range. That means she's gained approval from the vast majority of Democrats.
Women professionals (journalists, teachers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, and businesswomen): Sarah is the consummate female professional, having served as Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, and as governor of the state. Her college degree is in journalism. Her parents both served as public school teachers.
Working families: Sarah's husband, Todd, has labored his entire adult life as a commercial fisherman and an oil field production worker. The couple's links to working families go far beyond the usual political rhetoric.
Gun owners: Sarah is an avid hunter and a life-member of the National Rifle Association.
Pro-Life social conservatives: When Sarah found out that her unborn son, Trig, had Down Syndrome, she and her husband elected to have the child. Her point was that God has a purpose for every human being. When Trig was born, the Palins' press release began with thse word, "God has blessed us . . . ." The fascinating point was that they meant every word of it.
Evangelical Christians: Sarah is an evangelical Christian. However, she doesn't wear her religious faith on her sleeve. She is not anti-gay and does not scapegoat people who disagree with her.
People concerned about energy and the environment: As governor of Alaska, Sarah is among the best-informed elected officials on both issues. She's head of the energy committee at the Republican Governors Association and is a strong advocate of level-headed conservation of natural resources.
Overall, there's no other Republican that brings more to the table than Sarah Palin. She has exceptionally wide appeal. She would help John McCain with many groups with which he's currently weak (including young people and women professionals).
Of supreme importance: Sarah could be particularly helpful in battleground states with large numbers of working class voters, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan.
In 2012 (if Obama wins this year or if McCain elects to serve just one term) or 2016, the presidential face-off could pit Sarah Palin against Hillary Clinton. One imagines that it would be a battle royal.
Note: I hope everyone will visit my Hillary Supporters for McCain column. It contains a guest column by a Black woman from North Carolina -- a Hillary supporter -- who is now strongly backing McCain.

Hillary Supporters: Barack Obama Despicable

Gov. Sarah Palin after signing bill benefiting soldiers of the Alaska National Guard. Sarah's and Todd Palin's son, Track, age 18, is an infantryman in the U.S. Army. He and and his best friend both enlisted on September 11, 2007.

Below: Alaska Gov. Sarah Heath Palin with baby son Trig swaddled. Picture is with Sarah and legislators on capital steps in Juneau. Sarah is now the front-runner for the GOP vice presidential nomination. This weekend I'll have separate columns about Gov. Palin on this national blog and my "Hillary Supporters for McCain" blog. I urge you to bookmark these sites and visit them often.

The biggest buzz in the blogosphere nowadays reflects the vast number of Hillary Clinton supporters who intend to vote for McCain. As I explain on my Hillary Supporters for McCain blog -- the original such site -- one of the Hillary supporters for McCain may be the New York Senator herself.

Here's the link: Doesn't Hillary Really Favor McCain?

On the above linked column at that popular site, I assert the following: Tomorrow, Senator Clinton will endorse a man she despises: Barack Obama.

Her heart definitely will not be in it.More to follow here about why I believe Hillary Clinton will be "blowing smoke" at us in her Saturday endorsement of Barack Obama. She's going to have her fingers crossed. Everything Sen. Clinton does between now and November 4 is going to be based not on the 2008 election, but on the one in 2012. Right now, she's in full "grin-and-bear-it" mode. Conversely, her supporters are not grinning -- and, as we hear in the movie "Network," they're "not going to take it any more."

Let's see, what did Barack and his surrogates (including Rev. Wright and Father Pfleger) say about Hillary? That she's a chronic liar, that she's a warmonger (for supporting the Iraq War Resolution), and a racist. They also profoundly misrepresented the assasination of Bobby Kennedy. Other than those things, I guess, they feel she's okay.

Hillary was badly trashed in the Democratic primaries. And the person running the trash machince was none other than Barack Obama. His windy rhetoric somehow prevailed over Sen. Clinton's issues-oriented campaign. As history will record, he scooped up such huge majorities in Black communities that Sen. Clinton had no real chance to win enough delegates.

In the primaries, Blacks voting in lock-step for Obama was somehow an issue of pride. In contrast, white voters supporting Clinton apparently was a manifestation of racism. As Obama put it, the Clinton supporters were "bitter" people, "clinging" to their religion, guns, and racial prejudices. That "contrasted" with his supporters, whose heart were supposedly pure.

No wonder so many Hillary Supporters are sickened by the outcome. Senator Clinton has a political history of supporting causes favored by American Blacks. Her "reward" for that record has been to be characterized as a racist.

WILL HILLARY ENDORSE JOHN MCCAIN?

Note: On my Pennsylvania blog today, I have a piece about "America's Worst Congressman: Chaka Fattah." Rep. Fattah is from Philadelphia, and he's about as corrupt as it gets in American politics, which is saying a lot. On my Hillary Supporters for McCain blog, I continue my discussion about how McCain could break the election wide open -- and also add some thoughts about the West Virginia primary. In many ways, WV is "Pennsylvania South," loaded with good people of modest means. Hillary will win big there. Obama basically has no interest in states like WV.

See below: "I wouldn't mind one bit if John McCain says -- in strong terms -- that the Democratic nomination was stolen from Mrs. Clinton. The thieves were Howard Dean and Barack Obama. The crime scenes were Michigan and Florida, whose delegates were denied Clinton."

The following two paragraphs are from my new -- and popular (to my amazement) -- blog called "Hillary Supporters for McCain." From all appearances, Mrs. Clinton will not win the Democratic nomination for President, but she will continue to play a major role in determining who wins the general election. (I hope you take a look at the "Hillary" site. It is definitely not part of the usual "Hillary bashing.")

I'm hoping this blog (the "Hillary" site) becomes one of the most fascinating -- and useful -- ones in the political blogosphere. You can help me achieve that end by taking various steps: (1) bookmarking the site; (2) visiting regularly; (3) sharing your own thoughts about the various articles (either through the "comments" or by writing me at TalkTop65@aol.com); and (4) telling your friends and political allies about this site and providing them links to it. Thanks for your support.

On my Pennsylvania blog, I have a piece about two congressional candidates (Melissa Hart and Toni Gilhooley) whom I'm urging to link themselves closely to John McCain's presidential bid. It's a strategy I believe is applicable to most Republican congressional candidates across the nation. If you agree, please forward it to your own favorite congressional candidate.

One key question that hasn't been answered yet is whether Hillary supporters should back John McCain -- and if so, why? I'd love to hear your thoughts on that issue. Another critical matter is how (and to what degree) Hillary should endorse Obama. If she believes he would be a bad President, should she endorse him at all -- or perhaps rest her wounded spirit incommunicado in Hawaii? If she has to choose between Party and country, won't she choose country?

If I had any direct contact with Senator Clinton, these are some of the questions I'd ask her -- respectfully but forcefully.

Some months ago Mrs. Clinton said the following: "I have a lifetime of experience. Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience. Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002 [against the Iraq War]." In those comments, she was suggesting that McCain has the necessary experience to be President -- and that Obama doesn't.

Many people in Sen. Clinton's Party will tell her, "Hillary, it's time to 'take one for the team' and to strongly support Obama for the presidency. If she gives into that request/demand, it would be a terrible way to conduct a life. This nation -- her nation, mine, and yours -- does face the huge challenges she's discussed in the campaign.

From his record, John McCain has the experience -- and the character -- to deal with them. From his record (or the lack thereof), Obama does not. He demonstrates great naivete about the way the world operates. He would have great trouble protecting America because he doesn't grasp fully that the nation needs protection.

As I've indicated, Obama apparently does not respect McCain the person. Why? Because Obama doesn't know many (any?) people like the Arizona Senator. Instead, he knows his wife (who calls America "a mean place"), or Rev. Jeremiah Wright (who damns the country and blames it for "inventing" the AIDS virus), or William Ayers (who thinks the country deserves to have bombs set off in public places), or Tony Rezko (who believes that political payoffs are appropriate).

This is the Obama who calls his grandmother "a typical white person." The Obama who thinks typical white people are religious fanatics, gun-lovers, racists, and xenophobes.

Am I underestimating Obama? I wish there were some evidence that I was.

And back to Mrs. Clinton: instead of "taking one for the team," she should consider what she owes to a country that has been so good to her, her husband, and her daughter.

I wouldn't mind one bit if John McCain says -- in strong terms -- that the Democratic nomination was stolen from Mrs. Clinton. The thieves were Howard Dean and Barack Obama. The crime scenes were Michigan and Florida, who delegates were denied Clinton.

It's probably unlikely that Senator Clinton will endorse John McCain. Unlikely? Yes. Unimaginable? Not really. Doing the right thing sometimes comes with a personal cost. Doing the wrong thing, however, can come with a terrible cost for a nation.

Life is tough -- and so, I believe, is Hillary Clinton. We shall see, won't we?

Coming Events: SteveMaloneyGOP

On my surprising popular "Hillary Supporters for McCain" site today I have a guest column by an outstanding political analyst and organizer, Jean Avery, of Seattle, Washington. Being me, I also comments on Jean's fine article. The Hillary blog is: http://hillarysupportersformccain.blogspot.com, and today's piece is entitled "The Agonies of Hillary Clinton." (Jean's blog is: http://moms4mccain.blogspot.com.

On Sunday right here, I'll be writing about some of the important resources available to McCain supporters. One site I've been promoting is: www.mccainnow.com. It's a great place to get information and share insights with other "McCain-iacs." See you later!

Hillary Winning in PA, Nationwide

NOTE: MY MONDAY (AND TUESDAY) COLUMN WILL COME UP ABOUT 7 P.M. THIS EVENING. I'M STICKING BY MY PREDICTION THAT HILLARY CLINTON WILL WIN BY DOUBLE-DIGITS IN PA. GOV. ED RENDELL, A HILLARY CLINTON BACKER, IS PREDICTING A SINGLE-DIGIT WIN, BUT I BELIEVE HE'S ENGAGING IN THE TIME-HONORED TRADITION OF "LOWERING EXPECTATIONS."

The column below is reposted from my Pennsylvania site (http://pennsylvaniaforjohnmccain.com. In this year's election, Pennsylvania is going to be what the pundits call "highly competitive." Generally, the columns on the Pennsylvania site will be "states-specific," recognizing that PA is going to be a critical battleground state. Later today, I'll be putting up a new -- and extremely important -- blog called: http://hillarysupportersformccain.blogspot.com. When Obama wins the nomination, as he presumably will, many Hillary supporters -- perhaps one-in-four -- will be inclined to vote for John McCain, and the Hillary site will involve discussions about that development. I urge you to visit both these sites.

Hillary Winning in PA, Nationwide
On Sunday, April 20, the results of the latest Gallup "Tracking Poll" were released. They showed Hillary Clinton leading nationally among Democrats by one percentage point. A week ago, Obama's lead in the Gallup Poll was about 11 points, so there's been a dramatic drop in his national support.

In Pennsylvania, the average of polls shows Mrs. Clinton's lead at about five points. Some analysts, including this one, believe it's entirely possible that Clinton will win in the Keystone State by approximately 10 percentage points. I've guessed it will be approximately 55% to 45%, although it could conceivably be by as much as 57% to 43%.

Clinton is stronger in Pennsylvania than you might have been hearing on TV. Right now, she's tied or leading in every demographic except Blacks and the wealthiest of Democrats.

If Mrs. Clinton has a double-digit win in Pennsylvania, look for to call on Super Delegates to support her. Presumably, she will point directly to the Gallup Poll as illustrating that she's the most electable candidate. She would have a powerful argument in her favor.

Clearly, Obama has been hurt by two factors: (1) his "bitter" comments about small town America; (2) his poor performance in the recent debate. The national media, many of whom obviously support Obama, have been slow to report on the dramatic changes taking place in the Democratic race.

Keep a close eye on those Gallup Tracking Polls. If Senator Clinton extends her lead, the Democratic race may become more chaotic than it already is. My own guess? That the battle will go right to the convention floor in Denver, an eventuality that will help John McCain.

In fact, McCain is looking like a probable winner in states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, and even New Jersey, usually thought of as a solid "Blue State." Mrs. Clinton had solid wins in Ohio and New Jersey, and she should have a similar result in PA.
